Blogging 101: Why Blog for Business? Topic 2

6/28/2016

Three Reasons to Blog For Your Business:
  1. Connect with your audience (i.e potential customers and team recruits) on a personal level
  2. Find New Customers
  3. Find New Team Members
Why A Blog?
Blogs allow for your potential customers and team members to connect with you on a more personal level. They get to know you and your writing style and if you include videos like I do, they get to know your personality even more. This is why it is important to share personal experiences on your blogs since that is really what I blog is for and by personal experiences they can be topics that are related to business and not your personal life but the way you phrase your articles instead of buy, sell, join me, etc is by sharing your experiences. I will expand on this in a later topic of this Blogging 101 series to give you some examples.

Tip Tuesday: The Power of Follow-Up

1/26/2016

It's important to follow-up with your leads when you are in network marketing and direct sales. Someone may not be interested in what you have to offer immediately but at any point they could change their mind. There is a difference in professionally following up and pestering someone. One way you can follow up and stay in touch is to call potential leads every once in awhile just to see how things are going. In direct sales maybe it's a customer who hasn't bought in awhile and you call them and end up getting a new order. Emailing, text messaging, social media, and mailing (with permission) can be good ways to follow up as well. If someone has given you their contact information it is basically with the expectation that you will use it to contact them and follow up. With email, texts, and social media again there is a difference in following up and spam and it's important to know those differences. Follow-up is not always about buy buy buy or join join join. Although, if someone doesn't have your information then they may not think to contact you.

Tip Tuesday: Building Your Who Do You KNow List

If you are new in direct sales, you may be wondering how do you start a client list. Or maybe if you've been in the industry awhile you may be wondering how to revamp your client list. Try the FROGS method.
Make a list of these people whether you think they will be interested or not. You may be surprised by how many names you can come up with. Your network changes over time, so it is a good idea to revisit the FROGS list from time to time and see what possible new clients you may have in your warm network (people you are close to and/or see often).
  • Friends
  • Relatives
  • Organizations--clubs, school, work, etc.
  • Geography--Neighbors--places you go (grocery store, bank, post office, etc)
  • Social Media Connections
I bet you if you made a list of your network in all of these points of contact, you'd be surprised how many names you can actually come up with. You can do the list at any point in your business. The key once you've made the list is to start contacting people to let them know you are in whatever business you are in. Some will, some won't, oh well onto the next! Good motto to remember when people tell you they are not interested. Just because they are not interested at first does not mean they will never be interested. Being in business for five years I have come to realize this a few different times.

Tip Tuesday: Using Periscope For Business

1/5/2016

You can find some basic tips as well as a video replay of a scope I did on the topic of basic Periscope tips below.

Are you on Periscope for business? Then, here are some suggestions:

1) Don't be all business. Throw in some personal stuff too. This will grow your like and trust factor with potential clients.

2) Show some behind the scenes with your Periscope scopes. People love to see how it is all done.

3) Don't just sell, sell, sell. Nobody wants to watch that. Make sure you are sharing the benefits of the products or services and not just asking for sales.

Looking for the basic tips? Here they are:
1) Scope often (at least once a day)
2) Give some value in your scopes
3) Connect with others by following them, watching scopes, giving hearts, and being present on live scopes (comments). Also, be constructive and not a bully or as they are called in Periscope world a "Troll" because you will be blocked.
4) Reciprocate hearts and follows as much as possible because this will get viewers to follow you back as well as come back again and again.
5) Be consistent.
6) Join a support community for Periscopers. This will get you follows and hearts fast!

The Basics:
Periscope is a mobile app through Twitter that is for live streaming videos. You can choose to "scope" about whatever you wish. This can be a great tool for connecting with others to network and share your business when done properly. You can download Periscope on your mobile device through the Apple app store or Google Play.

In just five months I have grown my followers to over 350 people. I have also grown my Twitter followers by Periscope followers also following me on Twitter. This is the fastest my stats have ever gone up on any one social media platform.

Watch my video below to learn a little more about Periscope and you can visit the official app website at www.periscope.tv

I don't know about you, but I honestly feel that with each new season and each new quarter you can start over fresh with life and if applicable with your business. As I say in this replay Periscope, take this time to re-evaluate, plan, etc and reach to grow in this fourth quarter. Sorry for any audio problems, I was experiencing technical difficulties. You can follow me on Periscope at @amandabeautytip.

The basic summary of this quick scope is stating that with each new season and quarter you can refocus and refresh your business. Look at your end of year goals. How close are you to reaching them? Fourth quarter is a great time to share your business opportunity as well as to gain new customers. People are in the spending and buying mode looking for gift ideas for others. Good luck to you with your fourth quarter and fall and winter seasons!

Avoiding Frauds and Scams

9/6/2015

Picture
If it sounds to good to be true it probably is too good to be true. Unfortunately, in the direct selling and network marketing industry you can fall victim to scammers. Usually they will send you an email and ask for a lot of product offering to pay it by check or cashier's check. Then, when you get the check, the amount is for higher than you asked for and the scammers use this scam to get your bank account information. The good news is there is red flags you can look for when looking for these scams. The biggest red flag is saying they must pay by check or cashiers check. A second red flag is the email address itself. Typically, if it is not your usual email platforms (gmail, yahoo, outlook, hotmail, earthlink) then it is a scam. Sometimes the scammers will get smart and they will email you from a regular service provider. A third red flag applies to direct sellers as the scammers will give you a list of products to order (usually a large list) and ask for a total. Bottom line the best way to avoid these scams is if you do not know the person and if something sounds fishy, do not order any product until you have payment and also you can direct them to order online as most direct selling companies have a website where you can order from the representative or consultant. Not everything is a scam, but sometimes a scam is just that and everyone should be aware.

How To Choose The Best Direct Sales/Network Marketing Company For You

5/6/2015

Things to Think About When Choosing a Direct Sales/Network Marketing Company:
  1. What Products Does the Company Offer? Will you use these products yourself? Is it something you'd feel confident and comfortable selling? Find a company you enjoy the products yourself.
  2. What is the Company's Reputation? Is it positive? Is it an older established company or a newer ground floor company? What kind of company are you looking for (established or ground floor)? Know risks and benefits behind both choices.
  3. What resources does the company offer? Incentives, training, support. What are you looking for in these areas? What support does the corporate company offer?
  4. What are the commissions offered? What are you looking for in this area?
  5. Does the company offer online sales? It is a great add-on to most direct sales businesses to have online sales offered. Are you looking to add additional sales via a website and if so does the company offer a website? Also, what extra fees if any are associated with having a company website for customers to shop with you?
  6. Does the company offer leadership opportunities? Does the company offer a sponsorship program? Are you even interested in a sponsorship program? Are there extra commissions and incentives for leadership?
  7. What is the time you have to put into this sort of business? That may impact your decision. Is the business one that is easy to put into your current daily schedule?
  8. Do you want to be with a home party company or one that can be done without home parties? A strictly home party company will work a little different than one that you have many outlets and ways to gain new customers and recruits. What is it you are looking to do? Most of the companies do offer other ways to sell besides home parties, so don't let this one necessarily hold you back.
  9. Are you a part of multiple companies or just one? I have no opinion on this particular topic, just be aware of individual company policies about not competing (I.e. being a rep for two companies that sell the same types of products) and know what time you are willing to commit.

  • You want to start your own business
  • You want the support of others behind you (upline, other consultants, corporate)
  • You love a certain product that is distributed through direct selling (if you love the product anyway, why not get a discount and earn some extra money distributing it yourself?)
  • Low Initial Investments
  • Many companies to choose from
  • You want to work from home
