Probably one of the most important things you can do for your network marketing business or direct sales business (or businesses) is to schedule time to work them like you would work a normal J.O.B. I find that when I neglect to set a schedule, my businesses get neglected especially the two secondary ones, but even the primary one gets neglected. We all get caught up in every day life and it is easy to get distracted. You might work your businesses around a full time J.O.B. like I do or around a part time J.O.B. or around going to school full or part time (I started working around going to school full time, then working part time, then working full time for the last year and a half.) You might be staying at home with your families and working your businesses so you can get income without leaving the house every day. The beauty of Network Marketing is that you don't have to leave the house every day, but you should take advantage of the time you do leave the house and schedule in some time to talk about your business as well as take advantage of impromptu times to mention it to somebody. I find that when I don't schedule time for my businesses that I get caught up in life and at work and before I know it the day is over and I have to go to sleep and then hit repeat the next day. Even on weekends I find myself getting lost on the internet and social media websites or watching tv...I think you get the point. If you have children, you may get caught up in watching your children or what they are doing and find it difficult to work from home around your children. Setting a schedule for everything can help with this. Start with setting out what has to happen during the week...appts., getting yourself or your kids places, school, work, etc. Then, schedule in some of your "free time" time for your business. I like to schedule time in the evenings and on weekends to do things for my businesses. Also, make sure to schedule in some family time and time for yourself to just decompress. You want to find a good balance. Time management is probably the biggest obstacle to success, but one of the easiest to fix if you truly work at it.
