This book was a great read. The main takeaway from this book is that we all do Network Marketing every day. Every day we are recommending things to the people we know. This book gives you an idea of real life stories that you can use to bridge to your network marketing opportunity. The opportunity to join the business or the opportunity to gain a new customer. I liked the stories included and it just gave you another way to think about prospecting and how it can be different from just selling to people. Another takeaway from the book was that there really is no perfect time to prospect someone. You just have to keep trying with new people and sometimes the same people (as long as you aren't nagging them or begging for them to buy/join) and if it is the right time for that person then they will join you or buy from you. I have to say I believe this to be true from my experience with my business. I have just recently after three years received new customers that were originally in my warm market but at the time it was not right for them to try the products I offer. I also just recently got a recruit to join me in my business who I had met earlier in the year, but she contacted me back to join me because the time was right now and it wasn't then. It just goes to show how getting your name out there may not immediately have a result, but later on someone that has your name and decides to either join you or buy from you will come to you instead of someone else in your company. The third takeaway goes along with this and that is that you must let everyone know that you have the service you have and have joined the company you've joined because otherwise when they want something they will find someone else in the company to either join or buy from. This book is not company specific and has 51 Ways that you can recruit and find customers for your business. These ways may be some you've thought of but they also may be new to you especially if you are new to the business. All of the ways are low cost and all can be very effective. If you're struggling for ideas look no further than this helpful book. Some ways suggested are to find job fairs, festival events, yard sales, and just daily ways you can expand your business. I've been selling for three years and there are a couple of ways that I hadn't even thought of for recruiting or finding customers. Good luck to you! The book is available at amazon.com.
This book was an easy read, but very enlightening. I read it over a weekend at the beach on my Kindle. Eric talks about his own experience in network marketing and gives you simple steps on being successful. Some of them you may have heard before, but I like his perspective on it all. This book has a 5-star review on Amazon and is popular among Network Marketers. The book is primarily based on finding people to join your team/recruiting but as we all know sometimes you start off recruiting someone and then they become a great customer of yours instead and either way it's a win-win situation. The book is a guide to finding prospects and showing them your opportunity. Eric has been a part of this business for over twenty years. You can get your copy of the book from Amazon. He also has a website http://networkmarketingpro.com/. You can view his Youtube videos as well. He has another channel on YouTube with even more videos. His videos and website offer extra trainings and webinar like videos beyond the book with great information.
This book is focused on 31 Days of things to do to get yourself into the MLM Mindset. There is a daily goal for each day and information on what you need to be in the Multi-Level Marketing Mindset. I'll admit this book was the inspiration for my First Tips to Success on my Network Marketing Tips Blog and also where I found many quotes that I shared on my Network Marketing Facebook page, Pinterest account, and Instagram account. I really enjoyed the way she wrote the book and gave her own story of how these things worked for her and also the quotes she found. I only have ten tips, so to get the other twenty-one and to get another perspective on the ten, I definitely recommend getting this book and seeing what else you need to get yourself into the mindset for this type of business and set yourself up for success. I got the book using the Amazon Prime Kindle Loaning Library but if you click here you will be connected to the book's Amazon page to either purchase or loan for yourself. Stay tuned for reviews of her other books!
This book is also from a former Avon Independent Sales Representative. She used to have a blog with her Adventures as a Representative. You can read a collection of these posts in her other book Don't Shoot! I'm Just The Avon Lady! I loved that book as well because there was some really funny parts. There are a couple of blog posts in 100 Ways. I like the 100 Ways To Sell Avon book because it gives you some ideas that you may not think of on your own as far as places to go and things to do to grow your Avon Business. It's nice having something like this as a resource to refer back to when you feel like you're getting stuck in your business. I think this book could be a good resource for other direct sellers as well because even though it is geared towards Avon, some of her ideas could definitely work with other Direct Selling, Network Marketing businesses with similar products to Avon. Bottom line there is never a shortage of ideas but sometimes we just need a reminder and something physical to remind us of that when we are working our business.
This book is by T. Edwards. This book does have some good ideas on how to get customers for your direct sales business. I will say it depends on the town you live in though as far as if you can truly follow the plan set forth in the book. For one thing the Rep mentions coffee shops and today local coffee shops are few & far between. Most places only have Starbucks and other chains and most of those chains will not let you leave literature behind. However, you can "accidentally" leave it behind but that's only one brochure versus the ten suggested. You cannot exactly leave ten brochures discreetly. I've also heard of reps setting up to "work" at a Starbucks with some brochures out hoping people would approach as they walked by. This could work as long as it really appears you're working so that is worth a try. Still for the price this book was on Amazon Kindle, I think it was still a good read and like I said it did give good ideas and shows you an idea on how to plan out brochure distribution.
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey
This book is really for anyone. It talks about the habits you need to have in order to be successful. While reading this book, I also used the workbook that is available for separate purchase. I personally bought both on my Kindle from Amazon. The books were very insightful. They had me delve into the things I was doing and really set my mind straight on what it was I needed to focus on in life in order to be successful. Some people wonder, "What is successful?" Really that is up to you. What do you need to do to feel successful in your own life? It's all about your perspective of yourself. Since trying to live by these habits set out in the book, I have felt more successful and my thinking has changed. Definitely a good read. There are several versions for different people also available at Amazon. The only other one I have experience with is the one for teenagers and it too was good. There is also a book called The 8th Habit but I haven't had the chance to read it yet. |
